About Me and My Practice
I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Midwifery in New Zealand and a Bachelor's degree in Medicine in China, and am studying towards my Master's in Midwifery at Otago Polytechnic. I believe pregnancy and childbirth are a normal life event. I work in partnership with women and provide them with a continuity of women-centred care. I promote, facilitate, and support normal birth, helping women to make an informed choice during childbirth. I provide full midwifery care and shared care with other health practitioners. I work together with Toni McCallum based in a clinic where I undertake free pregnancy tests, LMC service, 24 hour consultation service, and contraceptive advice. I am fluent in English, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Shanghaiese. I also provide home births, hospital births, and water births. One of the things I enjoy most about being a midwife is sharing my knowledge and experience with women, ensuring women are given all necessary information to enable them to make the appropriate decision regarding their care.
