About Me and My Practice

I have been providing a full range of contemporary optometric professional services for 32 years at Fairmaid Chance and Crawford Optometrists. I am a University of Auckland graduate and am committed to providing comprehensive eye examinations along with a range of allied skills. I am an experienced contact lens practitioner and understand all the nuances of disposable and non-disposable lenses, including rigid gas permeable; I have considerable experience in keratoconic fittings.

For those in need of spectacle corrections, I have access to a range of premium lens technologies from leading Japanese, German and French suppliers, and I like to think our frame selection is unique, especially when compared to the offerings of the “chains”.

I am committed, conscientious and as willing to impart advice as I am to prescribe up to the minute contact lenses or spectacles.

My staff are diligent and helpful, and can attend to spectacle frame adjustments and repairs on demand.

Practice Hours

Monday - Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm
After hours and Saturdays by arrangement.
Accepting new patients.

Duration and Cost

I schedule a full 45 minutes for each eye examination; all consultations by appointment. Current fees are $79 for a full (adult) examination or $92 with pupil dilation. Sometimes follow up procedures and tests (such as a full visual field assessment) will be indicated and extra fees would be incurred.

My prices for lenses, frames, and contact lenses are competitive and my staff can help you to work to budget.
