About Me and My Practice
In my practice I integrate Natural Medicine and Hakomi Experiential Psychotherapy. My approach is holistic, holding the idea that Mind and Body are one and influence each other.
I learned when working as a young doctor in hospital that conventional medicine seemed not to have the answers to all of my questions. An inner curiosity added urgency to my search around what creates illness, opening my mind to the concept of Mind Body Holism.
In my treatments I consider all levels of human experience, from the physical to the spiritual.
Naturopathy, particularly the use of Herbal Medicine and Reflexology, offers a gentle yet powerful way of treating illness, in particular chronic conditions and pain syndromes.
Hakomi Experiential Psychotherapy introduces mindfulness and reflection. I feel passionate about the Hakomi approach because it respects and welcomes a person’s inner knowing and their innate body-wisdom. It shows how the injury of the past is often still held in the body and influences life at the present moment.
With the help of Hakomi techniques - for example, mindfulness - it is possible to study our habits and ways of being in the world that might create suffering. By accessing these subconscious beliefs we are creating understanding and insight, then choices and healing are possible.
People come to me to explore emotional and physical discomfort. They receive Naturopathic treatment through herbs, reflexology, and diet advice, or are invited to explore with the help of Hakomi Experiential Psychotherapy their own inner processes, creating empowerment and well-being for themselves.
