About Me and My Practice
I am a New Zealand Registered Hand Therapist and Occupational Therapist. I have 10 years of experience treating hand and upper extremity conditions, the majority of which are of an acute, trauma nature.
During the assessment, subjective and objective measures are taken to diagnose the injury. Treatment can take the form of hands-on treatment, home exercise programmes, splinting, pain management, edema management, desensitization programmes, education, and posture/positioning advice.
I gained experience in treating pain and rheumatic conditions while working at QE Health in Rotorua, and have brought these skills into my current practice. I am able to provide education and splinting relevant to a variety of rheumatologic conditions, such as Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid arthritis.
I have been employed on ACC Vocational Rehabilitation contracts for the past 10 years. I am skilled in performing worksite assessments and return-to-work programmes for injured employees, in addition to pre-claim assessments and workstation setups for employees who identify a pre-existing upper extremity condition. I offer these skills on a private basis to individual employers as well.

I am accepting new patients. Same day appointments available for urgent cases. We do not hold a wait list. By appointment only.
Duration and CostInitial appointments are scheduled for 60 minutes. Follow-up appointments are scheduled for 30 minutes.
If the client's injury is covered by ACC (or an Accredited Employer), there is unlikely to be any charge to the individual for assessment, treatment, or required splinting.
For non-ACC covered clients, a fee will apply: $65.00 per 30 minutes, plus any required splinting fees.
Frequency of appointments is determined by the client's condition. Length of treatment, i.e. number of weeks, is dependent on the client's condition.
