About Me and My Practice

I set up Massage Clinic QT in December 2011 and is a private practise located in Queenstown. I am a Registered Remedial Massage Therapist (RMT) Level 7 with Massage New Zealand, a member of the Australasian Lymphology Association (ALA) and on the National Lymphoedema Practitioner’s Register (NLPR).

My training includes: Diploma in Massage Therapy (Hons) from the Canterbury College of Natural Medicine, Certificate in Advanced Sports Massage assessment and techniques (CCNM) and postgraduate studies in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) & Combined Decongestive Therapy (CDT) – V3 certified Lymphoedema Therapist and MLD therapist – Vodder International School.

My clinic aims to encompass and provide assistance for recovery from injury, surgery, sport events, chronic pain and maintaining postural integrity of the musculosketal system. The treatment plan process has emphasis on finding the cause of pain and working with the client to resolve it. Along with remedial massage, I incorporate Clinical Neuromuscular Therapy (CNMT), Sports massage, PNF stretching and Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) into my treatment plans.

The clinic also provides Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) used primarily in the treatment of Lymphoedema (primary/secondary), lipoedema and chronic venous insufficiency. CDT includes MLD treatments, medical lymph taping, compression bandaging, decongestive exercises, skin care, compression garments plus teaching the client self Manual Lymphatic Drainage all to reduce the oedema and maintain the size of the limb(s).

Manual Lymphatic Drainage and lymph taping can be used to treat oedemas, acute injuries and many other health conditions. Further information can be found at www.massageclinicqt.com/what-can-mld-treat.html

Measuring and ordering of compression garments is also a service provided at the clinic for medical, sports and travel requirements.
