About Me and My Practice
Currently, my practice centres on individual lessons. I work with an interesting range of people, from those living with pain or chronic conditions, people adjusting after weight loss surgery through to professional performers and musicians. I find the work exciting and stimulating. I also teach an Awareness Through Movement (ATM) class for seniors and anticipate offering more group Awareness Through Movement classes soon.
Born in Gisborne, raised in the Bay of Plenty and Auckland, and after several years living in Europe, I have now been settled in Dunedin for more than twenty years. On arrival, I was involved in founding a number of community theatre projects, including the first Playback Theatre Company in Dunedin, and a Women’s Performance Art Collective. I also taught drama as part of an employment programme. For more than 16 years, I worked at Otago University developing interactive software for language acquisition, as a tutor in Art History, and more recently in Theatre Studies designing a database of New Zealand theatre. It was while I was working there that I started my Feldenkrais training in Melbourne.
It is wonderful to be back here teaching in movement and awareness education. I am pleased to be making the Feldenkrais® Method available in Dunedin again.

Other areas of interest for me are issues of social justice and equity, sustainable living and design, languages, and the visual and performing arts. I dance with the local Contra Dancing Group and over summer I swim every day at the St. Clair Salt Water Pool.
