About Me and My Practice

My name is Jeannie and I come from Yorkshire in England. I offer therapy based in honesty, warmth and a non-judgemental acceptance of whatever the client chooses to bring to their consultation.

My experience in counselling includes issues such as anxiety, depression, self-confidence, addictions, and many more.

I have counselled adolescents, supporting them in their transition into adulthood, and also with adults, both male and female. I work in a relational way, with a holistic view of the self.

I'm qualified in an integrative approach, allowing me to offer a choice of ways of working together. I recognise one size does not fit all, and for you to get the best out of me, it's important you feel you can work with me.

Practice Hours

Tuesday to Thursday, by appointment only.

Duration and Cost

Therapy consultations usually last 50 minutes. For therapy to be most effective, weekly consultations are preferable.

When working with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), fortnightly consultations are possible.

Cost of consultations is $80, with an initial 30 minute appointment FREE.

Accepted by Insurers

Assistance with costs may be available through WINZ.
Referrals accepted through WINZ PATHS, EAP Works, and professional colleagues.

Formal Qualifications

Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Wiltshire College, Lackham, UK)

Other Training or Experience

Following qualifying, I continued my professional growth and trained in using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

CBT offers a more practical approach to therapy by focusing on how our beliefs and perceptions of situations in our lives can affect our chosen behaviours.

By working with our beliefs about our world, and by questioning how accurate these often long held beliefs are for us in present day situations, we can see old patterns and discover new ones for ourselves.

I have also continued to develop over the years and welcome the inception of online media. I offer online counselling, having trained and qualified in this. For more information, please see www.counsellingonthe.net
