About Me and My Practice
I was born in Invercargill and went to Otago University, where I studied microbiology. I then worked in the veterinary animal health field for 8 years. Following this I was a dairy farmer, milking cows on the Taieri Plains. However, I wanted something that was involved with people, so I began to study and learn about psychotherapy while farming.
Psychotherapy has been my full time work for the past 20 years. Over this time I have continued to train and learn, most recently in the field of mindbody.
This integrative approach looks at the meaning of illness, the prediposing factors, the precipitating reasons, and the ways the illness in maintained. This can be very helpful with chronic illness which has resisted medical treatment.
Currently, I work part time for Student Health at the University of Otago and in a private practice at Pitt Street Medical. I welcome enquiries for psychotherapy or mindbody healthcare.
